The Apex Legends Global Series 2023 Championship draws near, and 40 top teams will vie for glory and a share of USD 2 million in prize money at the ALGS Championship in Birmingham, U.K. on Sep. 6.
While 30 teams secured direct invites based on their performance throughout the year, 10 more teams emerged victorious from the ALGS Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ) to earn their spots in the prestigious event. And these qualifying teams include two teams from each of the regions—North America, South America, EMEA, Asia-Pacific North, and Asia-Pacific South
The 10 teams that secured their qualification via the LCQ are:
North America – The Dojo, DNO
South America -SAF Esports, K1CK
Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA): GoNext, LCDF
Asia-Pacific North (APAC-N): Crazy Raccoon, NORTHEPTION
Asia-Pacific South (APAC-S): MDY White, Inside The Ring
The LCQ tournament featured 40 top teams from each region battling for their 2023 season and a shot at global Apex supremacy. The format put teams through intense rounds of competition, where only the best would prevail.
The teams’ seeding was determined by their standings after split two, ranging from Pro League to each region’s Challenger Circuit. The top 10 teams from each 20-team group advanced to the winner’s bracket, while the bottom 10 faced elimination in the losers’ bracket. Another Big team from NA Furia didn’t make it as they fell short in points behind iitztimmy’s team The Dojo.
In the final round, a match point format was utilized. Teams reaching the 50-point threshold and winning a game before any other team on match point automatically secured one of their region’s ALGS Championship berths. The last slots to the Championship were awarded to the second-place teams based on standard ALGS scoring.
The ALGS Championship promises an intense showdown, and with the addition of the LCQ qualifiers, the competition is set to be fiercer than ever. The top teams from across the globe will battle it out for the title of ALGS champions for 2023 and establish their dominance in the Apex Legends competitive scene.
