In the world of Apex Legends, notable changes have shaken up the competitive scene. Jacob “HisWattson” McMillin, the 2022 Apex Legends Global Series Championship MVP, bids farewell to the competitive arena, announcing his retirement after FURIA’s exit from the 2023 ALGS Split Two playoffs. His retirement comes after three years of competitive playwith a heartfelt note.

HisWattson’s exceptional Apex Legends journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. From solo-queuing as a Rookie to becoming a formidable Predator without using any armour, and ascending from Bronze to the esteemed rank of Master without relying on any tools, his skills are unmatched. His impressive feats also extend to dominating pro tournaments, consistently securing high placements.

His achievements certainly support his claim as the world’s best Apex Legends player. At just 21 years old, he joined forces with FURIA in preparation for the ALGS World Championship 2022. During the prestigious event, his remarkable performance earned him the coveted MVP title, and FURIA proudly claimed second place, securing a substantial $300,000 prize. His legacy for this will be remembered for years.

However, 2023 proved to be a challenging year for FURIA, with disappointments in Split One and Split Two Playoffs.

In response to HisWattson‘s retirement, FURIA swiftly signed Mac “Albralelie” Beckwith to their roster. Albralelie, known for his previous stints with LANimals and Wildcard Gaming, now joins FURIA in preparation for the North America LCQ and beyond. This addition is seen as FURIA’s deep-seatedseeks to reclaim its position in the Apex Legends Global Series.

The North America LCQ is set to begin on July 21, offering FURIA a chance to secure their spot in the upcoming Championship. Only the top two teams from the Match Point Finals will qualify, and FURIA is looking forward to making a comeback.

As the competitive landscape evolves, Apex Legends fans eagerly anticipate the thrilling showdowns and new possibilities this latest roster change will bring to the forefront. The North America LCQ promises fierce competition and surprises as teams vie for a shot at the Championship.
